VNEvery two years, the University of Science, VNU-HCM organizes scientific conferences to create an environment for scientists to meet and exchange their state-of-the-art researches. This year, the 13th VNUHCM-US 2022 conference was held from November 21 to 26, 2022, of which the section Geophysics-Oceanography-Meteorology-Hydrology was organized on November 24, 2022.Our section received 41 scientific works from Vietnamese and international scientists in the fields of oceanography, meteorology, hydrology, geophysics, environment, astronomy (link). There were 19 scientists with some keynote’s speakers presenting their study subjects with highlights of their new researches. The remaining researches were presented as posters with very high-quality scientific contents. Our section was honor to get the visit from the vice chancellor of the University, Prof. Tran Minh Triet and the head of the Science and Technology department, Prof. Tran Van Man, who gave the speech to open the conference section.
There were three main sections including:
Section 2A: Multi-discipline researches: there were nine oral presentations from Prof. Sohiko Kameyama from Hokkaido University, Japan (Picture 2) and some online presentations from scientists University of Rhode Island, USA, University of Białystok, Poland, Kiel University, Germany and from the University of Tasmania, Australia (Picture 3, 4)
Section 2B: Oceanology and Geophysics: there were six presentations reporting about new instruments and measurement devices and about the recent researches about cosmology and coastal hydrodynamics (Picture 5).
Section 2C: Meteorology, Hydrology and applied Meteo-hydrology: There were six presentations. The scientists reported interesting topics which attracted the audients along with discussions.
Section Geophysics-Oceanography-Meteorology-Hydrology was honor to host this conference and received the visit of 70 scientists from 26 Vietnamese and international research institutes, universities, companies and organizations (link). In addition, our section had received valuable support from the Vietnam Administration of Sea and Island, JFE Advantech Co., LTD, Dai Phat Dat Company, Reecotech, and National Of General Construction Consultants (Nagecco) (Picture 7).
