Every two years, the University of Science, VNU-HCM organizes a Scientific Conference to create conditions for scientists to meet and exchange new research. The 14th Scientific Conference of the University of Science, VNU-HCM 2024 was held from November 11 to 16, 2024. The scientific report at the Oceanography, Hydrology and Climate Change Sub-session (under the Physics, Earth Science, Oceanography Subcommittee) was organised on November 11, 2024.
This year Scientific Conference, the Oceanography, Hydrology and Climate Change Sub-session has 28 reports registered to attend from domestic and foreign scientists in the fields of Oceanography, Hydrology, Environment and Climate Change. Of which, there are 17 oral reports and 11 poster reports. Most of the reports are new, scientific and have practicals. Please see the attached file for the summary report here. The sub-session was honored to welcome Associate Professor. Tran Minh Triet, Vice President of University of Science (VNU-HCMC) and Associate Professor, Dr. Vo Luong Hong Phuoc to give the opening speech at the conference.

Session 3A: International cooperation and multi-disciplinary research, including 06 reports. There were 03 online reports on the Zoom platform, including 02 reports from the University of Tasmania (Australia), 01 report from Hokkaido University (Japan). In addition, there was 01 report by a scientist from Laos.
Session 2B: Climate Change and Environment, including 06 reports. This session attracted much attention from attendees on the topic of microplastics in seawater and sediments, as well as environmentally friendly geotechnical materials.
Session 3C: Hydrology – Oceanography, including 06 reports. This session focused on hydrodynamic factors in rivers and seas, attracting the attention and lively exchanges from attendees.
The Oceanography, Hydrology and Climate Change Sesion was honored to welcome more than 60 guests who are scientists from domestic and foreign agencies. In addition, the session also received the support of Dai Phat Consulting and Surveying Company Limited.
The conference was a great success.
