Within the framework of activities to help improve students’ professional skills, following the class on Drowning Prevention Skills, the Department of Oceanography, Meteorology and Hydrology organized a class on Surveying Skills. Police and First Aid Skills on the afternoon of September 25, 2023.
At the beginning of the class, Dr. Nguyen Cong Thanh introduced the students to basic rope knots commonly used when participating in surveys at sea. These are simple but effective wire buttons, making it easy to carry out measurement operations on the ship while also ensuring the safety of the measuring equipment. He also shared some experiences when participating in actual surveys.
Next, Doctor Vo Luong Quynh Lien presented some basic first aid skills, such as treating burns, heatstroke, hypoglycemia, and handling ants. The doctor also shared how to recognize and Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in case of cardiac or respiratory arrest.
Students are also guided and practice some basic types of bandaging.
The doctor’s presentation provided a lot of valuable and necessary information. The students also boldly discussed handling some situations requiring first aid in practice.
