VNFrom August 13 to August 21, 2026, two international graduate students from Hokkaido University, Japan, participated in a short-term study and academic exchange program at the Department of Oceanology, Meteorology and Hydrology. During the program, the students joined academic discussions, professional exchanges, and field activities together with faculty members and graduate students of the Department.
One of the highlights of the program was a river survey and water-sampling trip. Through this activity, the students gained practical experience in water sampling procedures, the observation of selected water environmental parameters, and the hydrological characteristics of a mangrove area influenced by tidal processes. The fieldwork provided an opportunity to connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications, while also strengthening teamwork skills and experience in an international research environment.
Upon completion of the short-term exchange program, the two students were awarded certificates of completion. The program not only provided valuable academic and field-based experiences for the international students, but also contributed to strengthening academic exchange, sharing research experience, and promoting collaboration between the Department of Oceanology, Meteorology and Hydrology and Hokkaido University (Japan).
Such exchange activities provide valuable opportunities for graduate students to broaden their learning environment, gain exposure to practical research methods, and strengthen connections within international academic and research networks.
